Collaborative sculpture of memories of lockdown for a Covid Memorial Garden
After an open competition, I was selected by Enfield Council to create a sculpture for a new Covid Memorial Garden in Edmonton Green. I began with workshops at local schools…..
and also at a local library. Participants were asked
“What did you miss during Lockdown?”
“How did you feel?”
A large diverse range of models were created, with images and words which the memories of the pandemic elicited.
The words and images were combined into a long ribbon design.
After being laser cut in steel, they were welded to rolled steel tube.
The sculpture was launched in August, 2023
