When I first visited Portsmouth Cathedral, I saw the wonderful tondo by Andrea Della Robbia. This small artwork evokes Motherhood, divinity, and fruit, combining the earthly with the divine.
Sculpture is usually made up of physical objects. The challenge is to bring something more to this physical form. Whether with emotions, thought or spirit.
Family Tree was a touring exhibition of sculpture and prints exploring the ways we are all connected using the tree as its central metaphor.
This morning I am off on the train to Manchester to begin work on the transformation of Lily Lane School. There is going to be a complete makeover of the outdoor space led by Julia Clark, a visionary Headteacher.
